Isolation of infectious patients during journeys by both road and air with BM Ambulance can be undertaken in our specialised medical transportation of infected patients isolation facility. Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGPs) are a contagious risk with medical intervention procedures that can generate airborne particles and increase the risk of transmission, such as intubation or nebulisation.

Patient Isolation Unit PIU AmbulanceWe have the specialist suitably chosen specific equipment and protocols to isolate and manage a patient with a contagious condition or suspected contagious condition and risk of infection to others, the environment and equipment for transport by Ambulance in the U.K. and E.U. Patients who are suspected or known to have an infectious disease or known Aerosol Generating Procedure risk will be isolated from the ambient environment with our CAPSULS Patient Isolation Unit (PIU). Our patient isolation unit is used as an environmental control and will also bypass extensive disinfection and decontamination after transporting infectious patients with any contagious risk

This service is suitable for our road ambulances as well as air transfers with our repatriation team and air-side transfers from inbound or outbound repatriation flights, The lightweight unit gives us the ability to efficiently move the patient in a wide range of extraction, access, and delivery locations.


ISOVAC CAPSULS Portable Patient Isolation Unit

The IOSVAC CAPSULS (Containment and Protection System Utilising Life Support) is a flexible and portable medical transportation of infected patients patient contagious risk isolation unit (PIU) which prevents particulate – biological and radiological cross-contamination between the patient, staff and vehicles, equipment and environment. With easy access to the body and specific head end access, the litter can be shaped to the sitting position on the ambulance stretcher, with easy access to manage the patient in transit.

All staff are trained on our CAPSULS Patient Isolation Unit Aerosol Generating Procedures AGP Ambulance equipment and are on call to move a contagious condition or suspected contagious condition patients by road or air.
