Our Paediatric First Aid (RQF) Level 3 Course is a regulated and nationally recognised 2-day qualification for individuals responsible for providing first aid to infants and children. Delivered in Ashford, Kent, this Paediatric First Aid Course develops the practical skills and confidence needed to manage a wide range of paediatric illnesses, injuries and emergency situations safely and effectively.
In line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the qualification fulfils Ofsted’s first aid requirements for early years providers. As a result, learners gain the competence to assess emergency situations, manage unresponsive infants and children, perform paediatric CPR, treat choking, control bleeding and manage shock. In addition, the course covers recognition and response to meningitis, anaphylaxis, asthma and other common childhood medical emergencies.
Throughout the training, participants engage in practical, scenario-based learning supported by continuous assessment. Consequently, learners build the confidence to respond promptly and effectively in real childcare settings. Assessment includes practical evaluations and multiple-choice theory examinations to ensure competence across all required learning outcomes.
Overall, this qualification is ideal for early years teachers, nursery staff, childminders and childcare providers who require an Ofsted-compliant paediatric first aid certification. The qualification is valid for three years.

- 2-day classroom training delivered in Ashford, Kent through comprehensive, practical paediatric first aid instruction

- Scenario-based learning designed to reflect real early years and childcare environments
- 2 mandatory units
- Guided Learning Hours (GLH): 22 hours
- Contact Learning Hours (CLH): Minimum 12 hours
- 6 practical assessments, 2 multiple choice theory examinations and continuous formative assessment throughout the course
