Administering Emergency Medical Gases (RQF) Level 3

Administering Emergency Medical Gases – Level 3 Award (RQF)

Our Level 3 Award in Administering Emergency Medical Gases (RQF) is a regulated Qualsafe qualification designed for individuals working in prehospital and high-risk environments. This specialist course develops the knowledge and practical skills required to safely administer emergency oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide / 50% oxygen mixtures within organisational scope of practice.

In addition, the qualification aligns with guidance from the Resuscitation Council (UK), the British Thoracic Society and UK Ambulance Services Clinical Practice Guidelines (JRCALC). Learners gain competence in oxygen therapy, equipment safety checks, CPR using BVM and AED, and monitoring patient response during emergency care situations.

Through practical, scenario-based training, candidates demonstrate the safe administration of emergency medical gases in prehospital settings. Furthermore, the course reinforces health and safety considerations, indications, cautions and contraindications for both adults and children.

This qualification is suitable for those who already hold a Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) or recognised equivalent and require competency in emergency oxygen administration under clinical governance arrangements.

We are an approved Qualsafe training provider, delivering compliant and respected pre-hospital emergency care training in Kent since 2016.
