Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace

This course comprises of a PowerPoint Presentation in either a classroom or E-Learning environment and a Multiple-Choice Question Paper. PLEASE NOTE: When E-Learning; each student will need two devices with internet access, one of which will need to have a video function for the time of the examination. Successful Learners will receive a personalised QA Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) e-certificate after their results have been submitted.

Alternatively, printed certificates are also available at no additional cost. Learners must complete the assessment in the unit, successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 12 weeks.

The number of hours a Learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation and study (including assessment) as directed by, but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of a Trainer (e.g, pre-course reading) for this qualification is 14 hours.

This QA qualification is for people who wish to:

1. Raise their awareness of the signs and symptoms associated with mental health problems, both inside and outside the workplace.

 

2. Be able to listen actively and feel confident to have a conversation with individuals potentially suffering mental ill-health.

3. Be able to assist with policy writing and risk assessments for mental health in the workplace.


4. Direct anyone with potential mental health problems to a reliable source of support both internally and externally.

Who should attend this course?
The QA Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that is specifically designed for those who would like to raise their awareness of mental health, develop an understanding on how to support, reassure and signpost colleagues to professional support. Although this qualification is ideal for those who are line managers or work within the human resources department, any member of staff should be able to attend this qualification (Many businesses have designated Mental Health Champions, who may not be managers or H.R).

Entry Requirements?

  • Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of the training.
  • There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent and a basic understanding of first aid.
