AoFAQ Level 2 National Award in Safeguarding Children and Young People
The course is designed around legislation and guidance from various departments of Her Majesty’s Government including the Working Together to Safeguard Children: a guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, what to do if you are worried about a child being abused and the All Wales Child Protection Procedure Documents.
The AoFAQ Safeguarding Children and Young People (NI) qualification is also available to meet the requirements of Northern Ireland.
Course Overview
During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with Safeguarding Children and Young People.

- Understand the role of safeguarding children and young people in England and Wales.
- Understand the different types of abuse and how to recognise them.
- Understand the key principles of legislation which protects children and young people in England and Wales.
- Understand the process for reporting suspected child abuse.
